The Equality Act – Are you ready?

Do you know that there are nine protected characteristics in UK discrimination law that could potentially bring about a claim of unlawful discrimination?

Do you know that on 1 October 2010 that all existing discrimination legislation is set to be replaced by the Equalities Act?

The nine protected characteristics are age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.

The changes are very complex and in some cases the new legislation extends the discrimination protections available.
